THE FINN A NEW CONCEPT IN FISHING WEIGHTS WHICH BRINGS ANGLING INTO THE 21ST CENTURY
A completely different design born out of necessity and simplicity. In the early nineties
Patricia was selected to fish for the England ladies team. Fishing on an extremely rocky
venue in Sardinia and losing many sets of tackle, Patricia came up with a simple idea, a
weight that would lift up in the water when reeled in fast so she would not lose her tackle.
After returning back home to Dover, Patrica got a friend to make a mould to try out her idea. The mould was made, but then Patricia settled back into our English styles of fishing and the mould stayed in the shed for the next 18 years.
Last year, Graham was in the shed making up some weights and Patricia said:
"remember that old mould? Can make me up a few of those Finn weights and lets go and try them out."
The mould was for a 4oz plain Finn weight, and with a few design alterations Graham also made some 4oz Break Frees and some 4oz Fixed Wires. Next step? To try them out.
Their favourite venue is the Dover breakwater so this would be quite a challenge, and they were a great success the Finn Break Frees held out in the gentle to medium tide and the Finn Fixed Wires held out in the much stronger tides.
So Patricia's idea was reborn with even more design changes to add!
Next Patricia and Graham set out to find a mould maker and now there are the following Finn weights in the range;
Finn Plain Leadlifting weights in

Finn Fixed Wire Leadlifting weights in;

and the latest addition for the boat anglers, the Finn Leadlifting Pirks in;

The Finn weights work in the following way;
- Aerodynamic for casting.
- Built in lead lift.
- Doesn't roll along the bottom like ordinary plain weights.
- Ideal for all beach and pier fishing.
At last a weight that will help in less tackle being lost. The Finn design will help the weight to lift and plane up in the water. It will also lie flat on the bottom of the sea bed.
The Finn Breakfree and Fixed Wire weights have two wires instead of four. The reason for this is simple: the design of the weight is such that it wants to lie flat on the sea bed, so two wires bent in opposite directions to the Finns is all you need to hold bottom. The Breakfrees are great for holding in slack tides or gentle tides, the Fixed Wires are for stronger tides and also can be used uptiding from boats. As tried and tested these weights work extremely well, just give them a try, the weights speak for themselves.
Great for Mackerel and Bass spinning. We have already had some great feedback from everyone that has tried them.

They work well for all our preditary fish (Cod, Pollack, Ling, Coalfish and Bass etc).
